FOUNDER
Karen Kolb, founder of Skill Power LLC, has been involved with social service agencies for more than 20 years. Her volunteer work, B.A. in social work and paid positions have all provided extensive experience in creating and facilitating skill-building workshops and programs for inner-city youth, domestic violence survivors and many others with significant barriers to success.

3 1/2 years facilitating student led community service program and creating life-skills workshops at an inner-city Job Corps location. Became a Regional Trainer for Job Corps' Social Skills Training (SST) Initiative.

7 1/2 years creating, facilitating and recruiting volunteers to facilitate a 5 1/2 hour life skills & job skills program that as ultimately offered at 14 locations. Total participation in this program included more than 3,000 men, women and teens.

More than 12 years volunteer and contract work with a domestic violence shelter creating and facilitating life skills, job skills, financial skills and faith-building classes for women in shelter.

Founded Skill Power LLC in 2008 as a base for developing books, resource materials and motivational items.

Authored 7 books and created 6 unique programs, many of which have been adapted for use as individual workshops.
